Posterity

You and I exist alone
In the black of absolute darkness
While the rest of God's creation
Crushes in all around us.

Time has no meaning for us
Because we always will,
And always have been,
Pressed together, thus,
Into the dark void of nothingness.

Only our joy shines,
Illuminating our words with meaning,
And each word is a vibration
That makes us tremble with happiness.
And yet, we have never seen each other
Or touched.
