The Sea; water inundating,
Flowing as fast as flight,
Finally, unable to speak of it.

I have planned a Novena in the Florida Everglades which would occur in December when the bird populations are the most concentrated and the mosquitoes are the least annoying. I would move from site to site in a canoe while interacting with the birds with my own sounds and electronics. The performance would last nine days and be broadcasted live via satellite through a number of alternative radio stations. The sites were determined through careful study of the Everglades Park maps and the Tsans of the T'ai Hsuan Ching for each day beginning with December 2. See map below:

The sites with their corresponding Tsan are as follows:

12/2

686-693

The pregnant woman has rich food.
Daughter and son toil away,
No tranquility their fate.

Homestead Campsite

12/3

694-695

Taken in flying,
Having obtained wings.
Advantage in rising up to Heaven.

Observation Tower - Shark Valley

12/4

696-697

A great number of little birds
Are taken in flying.
Plucking their quills,
Tail and wings.
Suppose the multitude did not get such substance.

Eco Pond

12/5

698

Galloping boats, sailing carriages;
Their destruction not far off.

Northwest Cape

12/6

699-700

A tiny child:
The hundred clans remain in the abyss.
The senior elder:
Scattering the boats.

Middle Cape

12/7

701-702

Red silkworms climb the withered mulberry bush.
Their cocoons are not yellow.

East Cape

12/8

703-705

The egg breaks
The stone infertile.
The great wagon
Lumbers on. lumbers on.

Clubhouse Beach

12/9

706

Upwards, hauling up the mountain,
Downwards breaking against the stream.

Eco Pond

12/10

707-708

Uprooting stones for precious gems,
Strength dwindling,
Help needed.

Homestead Campsite

This is a Novena in the making. All dreams and observations would be documented and shown to the public in the form of a performance/installation.
